HOME IS WHERE YOUR DOG IS
WEST COAST PAWS DOG RESCUE
WHO WE ARE
West Coast Paws Dog Rescue is a non-profit organization founded in 2022 by two friends with a shared passion for dog rescue. Since then, we have grown into a team of over 15 dedicated volunteers who share a commitment to finding safe and nurturing homes for dogs in need and providing ample post-adoption support to our adopters.
Each dog receives the essential rescue, veterinary, and travel support they need to prepare for their journey to Canada and into a loving home. We work closely with shelters and rescue partners in Mexico and South Korea to give dogs a second chance, while a dedicated community of volunteers and donors across Canada helps make their journey possible. Through education and awareness, we strive to create a safe and loving community for our dogs and our adopters.
Since beginning this journey, we have found homes for over 350 dogs.
More Than Just an Adoption
Foster-to-Adopt
Every adoption starts with a 4-week trial period, so you and your new best friend can be sure it's the right fit.
Post-Adoption Support
Our support doesn't end at pickup. We're here for check-ins, training advice, and questions for the life of your dog (and, we love to get doggy spam of your pup living the good life with you)!
Vet-Checked & Ready
Each dog is vaccinated and spayed or neutered prior to travel. Each dog will also travel with a veterinarian-issued Certificate of Health, as required for import into Canada or the USA. Any known health concerns identified prior to travel will be disclosed to adopters in advance.
Meet Our Adoptable Dogs

"WCP Dog Rescue stands out from the crowd. We searched for months before finding Santos. We were surprised at how many shelters/rescues didn’t respond to phone calls/emails, were rude, and dishonest. It was a breath of fresh air to find WCP. They are fast to respond, legitimate, honest, and actually care about their dogs. They helped…"

"Just an incredible, excellent group of people - we adopted our pup Suki with WCP in October 2022 and while it’s been amazing getting to see our sweet girl flourish, we’ve never felt more supported in this journey! Hannah and Zoë are both so kind and always willing to share their experience and advice to ensure that we’re the most confident dog parents we can be!"

"WCP are incredible! I first applied to foster a senior dog that wasn't getting any applications and they politely let me know that she had been adopted and worked with me and their rescue in Mexico behind the scenes to find us a different senior dog that needed a home. When they sent us Ginny's profile, we could see that they took the time to match her to our lifestyle…”
